Large-Current Power Inductors - TPI Series
KEMET ferrite core inductors are designed for a very low core loss
The core material used in KEMET TPI ferrite core inductor is ideal for high switching frequency applications. The inductor's flat-wire one-turn-through-the-construction design enables high efficiency at large currents. It also has a high switching frequency, low core loss, high current, and low self-heating with an operating temperature up to +125°C. Typical applications include high-switching DC/DC power supplies, points of load (POL), servers and storage, and supercomputers.
The TPI series offers two solutions. One set of parts are DC-optimized inductors for hard SW topology, 12 V power distribution, DC/DC power supplies, POL, servers and storage, and supercomputers. The other set comprises AC-optimized inductors for soft SW topology, 48 V power distribution. The AC optimized inductors were developed for switched tank convertor (STC) technology, which reduces close to 50% of the total loss compared to conventional inductors
