LMR® 400 Coaxial Cable, Connectors, and Accessories

Amphenol Times Microwave LMR-400 and LMR-400-75 cables represent a benchmark in high-performance coaxial cable solutions, primarily differentiated by their characteristic impedance. The LMR-400, a 50 Ω cable, is the industry standard for general RF applications, while the LMR-400-75, a 75 Ω variant, is specifically engineered for video and satellite systems. Both share a common robust construction, including a foam polyethylene dielectric and double shielding (aluminum tape and tinned copper braid), ensuring excellent RF shielding and minimal signal loss. This design results in superior attenuation characteristics compared to traditional RG-type cables of similar size, making them highly suitable for demanding installations. LMR standard cable: high-performance broadband, flexible, low-loss 50 Ω coaxial cables. Features include 100% effective shielding, available as pre-terminated assemblies, and rugged resistance to UV, sunlight, and weather.

LMR 75 Ω cable: UV-resistant polyethylene-jacketed cable designed for 30 years of outdoor use. The bending and handling characteristics are significantly better than other smooth-wall or corrugated hard-line cables.

LMR UltraFlex (UF) cable: a stranded center conductor and rubber outer jacketed cable designed for multiple bending/flexing cycles. It is used for both indoor and outdoor applications.

LMR LLPX® (low-loss plenum coax) cable: indoor highly fire-retardant cable designed for runs within return air handling plenums (e.g. dropped ceilings, raised floors).

LMR fire-retardant (FR) cable: non-halogen (non-toxic), low-smoke, fire-retardant cable designed for in-building runs that can be routed anywhere except air handling plenums. LMR-FR is UL/NEC and CSA-listed CMR and FT4, respectively, meets FAA FAR25 requirements and is MSHA-P listed for mining applications.

LMR direct burial (DB) cable: a waterproof version of the LMR. The addition of a waterproofing compound in and around the foil/braid ensures continuous reliable service should the jacket be inadvertently damaged during installation or in the future.

LMR RodentRepel (RR) cable: the cable jacket contains a proprietary non-hazardous, non-toxic additive that discourages rodents and other animals from chewing the cable. The additive is environmentally safe and not harmful to humans, birds, or animals. The repellent exhibits a scent that animals readily associate with predators and interpret as a danger signal but that is imperceptible to people.
