Sensata Technologies MHM5 and MHK5 Encoders | DigiKey Daily

BEI Sensors, from Sensata Technologies, specializes in speed and position sensors for extreme applications. Their MHM5 and MHK5 series of encoders are designed to measure precise rotary turns in industrial applications. Both series feature an IP65 protection rating, stainless steel shafts, and a code disc made of unbreakable plastic. They have 13 bits single-turn resolution and 12 bits of turns, and they can be electrically interfaced with either Ethernet or ProfitNet. Programming functions include resolution, time base, count direction, and more. Other features include LED indicator lights, polarity inversion and short circuit protection, and a gear train for turns counting which is immune to stray magnetics or electrical interference. Applications include alternative energy, cranes and wire rope, and cut-to-length operations.
