RevPi Connect S and SE Raspberry Pi-Based IIoT Gateway

KUNBUS' RevPi Connect S/SE based on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4S and positioned between the RevPi 3+ and RevPi 4 series is designed as a powerful IIoT gateway for machine and plant engineering. The Compute Module 4S is a compute module in the form factor of the CM3+ on which the more powerful Arm® Cortex®-A72 processor of the CM4 is installed. The RevPi Connect S/SE has an eMMC memory of 8 GB up to 32 GB. Due to its open platform concept (including full root rights), the RevPi Connect offers maximum freedom in the implementation of IIoT projects. Installed in a DIN rail housing, the module is equipped with two RJ45 Ethernet sockets, two USB ports, a 4-pin RS485 interface, a Micro-HDMI, and a Micro-USB socket. Its two Ethernet interfaces support simultaneous integration in both the automation and IT networks. This allows machine data from the shop floor, for example, to be transferred directly to the cloud or a higher-level ERP system. Familiar protocols such as MQTT and OPC UA are available. Individual applications can be programmed via Node-RED, Phython, or directly in C. The operating system used is a customized Raspbian with real-time patch. Using Raspbian ensures that basically any software or application running on Raspberry Pi will also run on Revolution Pi.

The S series of the RevPi Connect is compatible with all KUNBUS expansion modules, including the fieldbus gateways. The SE series of the RevPi Connect can only be expanded with KUNBUS IO and Con modules. Fieldbus gateways are not supported in the SE series.
