400 V, 100 A Bidirectional eFuse

Vishay's eFuse helps protect both the user and hardware in high-voltage applications

Image of Vishay's 400 V, 100 A Bidirectional eFuseVishay's eFuse featuring SiC MOSFETs and a VOA300 optocoupler was designed to handle continuous power up to 40 kW. It has been designed to operate continuously at full power with less than 30 W of losses and no active cooling. It also features a preload function, continuous current monitoring, and overcurrent protection (with shutdown in less than 2.5 μs).

Features
  • Constructed using a standard double-sided, four-layer PCB (FR4) which utilizes 70 μm thick copper for each layer
  • The overall dimensions of the PCB are 150 mm × 90 mm with some extension of the connectors beyond the edges
  • The high-voltage circuitry (12 x UJ4SC SiC MOSFETs) is located on the top side of the PCB along with the connectors, control buttons, status LEDs, and multiple test points
  • The low-voltage control circuitry is located on the bottom side of the PCB and the eFuse can be controlled remotely using a web browser
  • Designed to operate continuously at full power with less than 30 W of losses and no active cooling and also features a preload function, continuous current monitoring, and overcurrent protection (with shutdown in less than 2.5 μs)
Applications
  • High-voltage sources such as high-energy battery packs
